Happy Birthday America!

What a great day we had celebrating Independence Day with Aunt Beth and our friends Jordan and Laura and their boys, Dominic and Donovan! We started the day off with fun in the sun in the backyard. The boys had a great time in the water especially when they got the hose and sprayed the guys down! They needed to be cooled off as the temperature reached 90! Ahhhh, the summer heat! Jason grilled up hamburgers, hotdogs and made homemade ice cream. We ate and ate and then it was time for fireworks. We weren’t quite sure about the fireworks and Ty this year since last year Jason fired up a tank and Ty was really, really upset about the whole thing. We only purchased a few loud things and the rest were kid friendly ones, like the poppers, fountains, sparklers and such. We shot off a couple on Thursday and Ty was still not impressed and didn’t like the fact that they were loud. But, on Friday Aunt Beth was able to work with him to get him interested, before we knew it he and Dominic were out there throwing down the poppers and having a blast! Later on, Aunt Beth worked with him on the sparklers and again he was getting the hang of it all! Even though some were loud and he had his ears covered I think he still had a blast! We had a late night, I think it was 10:30 or even 11:00 before we got him to bed and that was after he needed a cheesyburger. With that said, we had a great holiday – very relaxed and just enjoyed being home with the kids, our family and friends!
