Wound up before bedtime!

Will I ever learn? It only takes a moment for us to get all wound up at bedtime. First he found the beads, then realizing what fun they were and what noise they generate he had to put them in the choo-choo. Then he wanted to run over me with the choo-choo once my toes were raw he decided to run himself over, throwing himself off and getting himself all worked up with laughter! So, instead of getting him settled I took his picture which made him more excited! I'm a softie and let him play and then surprisingly he came to sit in my lap and I was able to snap a Ty and Mommy moment.

Ty and his Grammy (aka Gee, Gee)

Grammy came this weekend for a visit, because its going to be another two weeks before she gets to see him on Nana's birthday. He couldn't wait for Grammy to come especially since she was bringing toy men to drive Dada's jeep, doonbuggy and airplane. (Ty just recently realized that he had more vehicles than men.......he didn't want cowboy pliot be be lonesome!) Jason and I spent Saturday at the PGA which provided special one-on-one time for Ty and his Grammy! She did get him to say "Gee,Gee" this weekend, so all in all it was a very productive weekend for the two. Hopefully it will stick!

Jason was able to snap a few pictures before we left Saturday and only a few were taken from Sunday when Ty got to wake Grammy up from her nap before she headed back to Texas.

Can't wait until Spring 2008!

I must share....

This evening I had dinner with my best friend Stephanie. Almost a month ago Clint, also a good friend, asked her to be his wife. I have been beside myself with excitement since she told me. She and Clint have been dating for six years, yes that's 6 YEARS!, and he has finally popped the question. She asked me out this evening to ask me to be a part of her special day, to be a bridesmaid. I tearfully said yes and we enjoyed an evening talking about wedding plans. To give a little history.....Stephanie was the receptionist when I started at Manhattan. I walked in nervously the first day and she was the one I saw first. She was sweet, funny and we instantly made a connection - we were friends that very first day. She was 19 and I was almost 27 years old. I thought that she was so nice, but there was no way we'd really be friends we wouldn't have anything in common. Well, I was wrong. I think I pretended to be 19 a little, but we hit it off and we've been close friends ever since! I'm so glad! I must share this last little thing. I knew she was my best friend on a day when I was feeling really down and to be honest, I can't remember what was going on at that time, but she emailed me and told me to go to the elevator. I did. The door opened and inside the elevator was a piece of grape bubblicious gum with a cheerfuly sticky note. I must say I laughed so hard and forgot my worries. THAT, is what friends do, cheer you up when you're down. I think I kept that sticky note taped to my computer for my entire five years with the company. That note reminded me each day of that time and continued to make me smile.

In closing, Stephanie - I'm honored to be a part of your special day and I'm glad God brought us together as friends. I'm so excited to be sharing all of these moments with you and look forward to all that are to come. Congratulations, I love you!

Stayin' cool!

We've been out early each morning to enjoy the cooler temperatures. Even though this first picture looks as if he's flexing his muscles, he's not. He wanted to wear his glasses, like Mommy, but the minute we got outside off they went. The kiddie pool is like having the bathtub outside. We make sure all the toys are in and have even put the chair in so he can kick and splash his legs! He's been soaking himself right off the bat, smart kid.... stay wet - stay cool!

The Dog Days of Summer!

Grumpy, Minnie, Alice and Bella came over yesterday, oh what fun we had! The kids didn’t seem to mind the heat, though their faces showed it with a nice pink tint. Jason grilled up some yummy hamburgers and hotdogs, which the kids gobbled right down! This, I think, is the perfect definition of summertime! I love it!!!

The Name Game

Okay, this would be my first experiment with splicing videos together. Please forgive my inexperience, our bad manners and a little blueberry on our face. Ty has exploded these last few days with words and trying to get a video has been difficult. So, I decided to use breakfast time while he was strapped down. It may have been thought that we haven't been working with Ty associating names with pictures and such, well here's the proof - Nana, Amy and Pappy - you should be so proud!

More names and videos to come....

Boy Hair

Yesterday I took Ty to get his haircut. I have been turned onto a great girl (thanks Megan) that I think cuts great hair! She asked me if I wanted him to have spikes. In my mind I was thinking, "Mr. T" but she assured me it would be easy to style or no style was needed. "Style", I thought - a boy's hair needs to be styled? I figured you just cut and wear, no maintaining necessary. I told her how unfamiliar I was with this and she gladly showed me several styles and explained to me how all the boys are wearing their hair these days. In order to create these hairstyles at home (as shown below) with spikes you need pomade and no more than a five-count finger through. I have been enlighted once again, I guess I could have really gone to Kevin Pino or Dave Clark for this lesson!
